On the morning of September 12, 2025, in Hanoi, Alpha Books Joint Stock Company (Alpha Books) and Tinh Van Technology Joint Stock Company (Tinh Van) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The event marks a joint effort to build and deploy comprehensive solutions for new-generation library model systems in Vietnam.
Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo has set the goal of innovation, creating breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation. In this context, combining content and science-technology to bring knowledge to the people in an accessible and user-friendly manner is a crucial issue. To successfully achieve this goal, enterprises are encouraged to participate in developing products and solutions that support libraries.
On the morning of September 12, 2025, the signing ceremony for the comprehensive development of university and community libraries in Vietnam took place at Tram Doc (Hanoi) with the participation of the Cultural Industry Development Association, the Institute for Strategic Research, and representatives from over 10 universities and public libraries in Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Bac Ninh, etc. The signing was held between two leading enterprises in the fields of book publishing and science-technology in Vietnam. The project aims to develop 100 next-generation library points nationwide by 2027.
Representatives of Alpha Group and Tinh Van sign the cooperation agreement “Comprehensive Development of University and Public Libraries in Vietnam”.
With over 20 years of establishment and development, Alpha Books has launched more than 10,000 book titles and 15,000,000 printed copies, collaborating with over 600 publishers, universities, and domestic and international partners. Witnessing the shift in reading culture trends, Alpha Group (formerly Alpha Books) is continuously striving to reposition itself from a book publishing enterprise to a knowledge transmission brand.
As the strategic partner of this event, Tinh Van brings the Libol library management software solution, which has been effectively used by over 130 libraries nationwide. Tinh Van has also been repeatedly honored with prestigious awards such as Sao Khue, Gold Cup for IT, TOP 5 ICT, Ho Chi Minh City IT-TT Award, and Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Information and Communications.
According to the agreement, the two parties will collaborate to develop and exploit software products and services, electronic learning resources, and new technology application solutions, with the goal of modernizing library operations, promoting reading culture, and expanding electronic publishing. The cooperation focuses on key directions such as deploying and continuously updating library management software and digital reading platforms, digitizing learning resource repositories to provide modern knowledge services, and applying artificial intelligence in publishing and library management. Additionally, the two enterprises commit to enhancing coordination in communication activities, organizing seminars and forums on modern libraries, as well as expanding marketing and distribution channels for books and technology solutions to partners and customers.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Canh Binh, Chairman of Alpha Group, said: “Today's signing will be the first impetus on Alpha Books' journey to expand from book publishing to building scientific and community reading spaces to become next-generation libraries. Libraries need to develop into learning and research centers, providing diverse spaces, resources, and support services for students, faculty, and the community. Libraries need to connect with the world and become the 'heart' of universities.”
Mr. Dinh Quang Hoang, Project Director for Next-Generation Library Development, added: “When knowledge leads technology in the library and publishing model, reading habits—from paper books to e-books—will be upgraded into a multi-sensory, borderless knowledge experience, breaking the stereotype of libraries as merely classical, rigid spaces. This is precisely the spirit of the cooperation event for the comprehensive development of university and community libraries between Alpha Books and Tinh Van Group.”
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chung, Director of the Education Solutions Center, representing Tinh Van, shared: “Tinh Van has many years of experience in deploying digital library and electronic publishing solutions. We believe that the combination with Alpha Books will create a comprehensive ecosystem where valuable content and advanced technology go hand in hand, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's publishing and library industry.”
The signing of the cooperation agreement between Alpha Books and Tinh Van once again affirms the determination of two leading enterprises in the fields of publishing and technology, while opening new opportunities for university libraries, community libraries, and publishers in accessing modern knowledge and applying advanced technology.
