CubeOne Column-Level Data Encryption Solution Arrives in Vietnam

On the morning of April 18, 2019, at the Lotte Hotel Hanoi, Tinh Van Financial Banking Software Joint Stock Company (Tinhvan Solutions) together with its partner eGlobal Systems organized the seminar “CubeOne Solutions Day 2019”.
The seminar introduced guests to CubeOne – a column-level data encryption solution that allows encrypting important and sensitive data fields such as account numbers, ID numbers, phone numbers, etc., instead of encrypting the entire database table. Column-level encryption optimizes system performance and storage capacity.

Delivering the opening speech at the event, Mr. Le Manh Hung – Director General of the Information Technology Department of the State Bank of Vietnam said: “As a state management agency in the banking sector, the State Bank of Vietnam also prioritizes ensuring information security and data safety, and constantly researches and explores new and advanced technologies to achieve this. During the research and testing process, CubeOne is a new technology solution that enables encryption at the column level and has achieved notable results for the State Bank’s problems.”

CubeOne ensures a high level of security for the database by supporting all search ranges such as equal, like, between, greater than, less than… with encrypted data and encrypted indexes.
Additionally, CubeOne allows specific and detailed role-based authorization, so even the DBA (Database Administrator) cannot access encrypted data without permission.
All these features of CubeOne help ensure security and information safety even in the event of data loss or leakage.

Another important aspect of data encryption is ensuring system performance. With CubeOne, the system is optimized and performance degradation is minimal – this ensures that data is encrypted while maintaining system performance, capable of handling large databases with millions of records and no downtime.
CubeOne provides different options for customers: they can encrypt at the database tier (using CubeOne Plugin) or at the application tier (using CubeOne API).
Overview of the Seminar
CubeOne has been successfully deployed in many banks, enterprises, and organizations in South Korea, notably the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Education, Hyundai Group, Samsung Group, etc. CubeOne has been successfully deployed at Shinhan Bank Vietnam and tested (POC) at several other banks on live applications, yielding positive initial results.
