On the morning of April 28, 2011, at the Tinhvan Telecom (TVT) hall, the Tinh Van Incubator Center (TVi) organized a career counseling session for female IT students titled: "IT Girl – Opportunities and Future".

When thinking about the Information Technology (IT) industry, we often imagine skinny guys wearing glasses, with dry personalities, glued to their computers all day, and IT schools are thought to be only for boys. Therefore, girls studying this field are often seen as disadvantaged, with fewer opportunities for development. Understanding this common mindset, TVi organized the career counseling session "IT Girl – Opportunities and Future" for female IT students.
The career counseling session took place in a warm atmosphere with the presence of current Tinh Van Group staff: Ms. Ha Thu Trang – Head of Quality Management at Tinhvan Telecom, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha – Recruitment Officer at Tinh Van Group's Administration – Human Resources Department, and Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc – Chairman of TVi and Head of the Xalo.vn spiritual group, along with many female students from the University of Technology, NIIT trainees, and TVi members.
The program consisted of five specific parts. The TVi members divided the IT Girls into four main groups to facilitate easier interaction and discussion: the "Godfather" group, characterized by a constant drive to reach the top; the "Ai-do" group, passionate and fully dedicated to their work; the "Bunny" group, gentle and adorable IT girls; and finally, the "Artist" group, with the motto "IT is an art, and IT professionals are artists."
Humorous and lively, the second part featured a small competition between IT Boys and IT Girls during the session. They exchanged views on the advantages and disadvantages of both genders working in the IT industry. As a result, the IT Girls won, with a prize of a lunch right after.
The main part of the career session was presented by two "seniors" – both experienced girls in the IT and recruitment fields: Ms. Ha Thu Trang and Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha. From a professional perspective, Ms. Ha Thu Trang provided the participating students with useful information, helping them better understand the IT profession today: what jobs it includes, how they are, and the career levels. She also gave clear and specific advice on what to prepare after graduation to secure a satisfactory job. With her many years of experience in the IT industry, she also guided IT students in general and future IT Girls in particular on career choices, what jobs to choose when starting out, and how to develop.
From a recruitment perspective, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha pointed out the necessary "luggage" for IT students to pack in their "backpack" to reach the goal of success. With many years of experience in recruitment, she shared with young people the requirements employers have for fresh graduates, especially IT students. She also advised them that when starting their job search, they should consider various issues such as work environment, development opportunities, office culture, etc. She also hoped that students would not stop at a university degree but would also need to update themselves with other reputable IT certifications such as IBM certification, FE certification (Information Technology Engineer), IT Passport certification (IT certification for non-specialists), etc.
