From November 4 to 8, 2014, Tinh Van Group (TVG) organized a training course on Capacity Building for Middle Managers and Key Personnel, introducing essential skills to enhance management effectiveness.
The course instructors were Mr. Phan Anh Luu and Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, experts in soft skills training. Focusing on three main areas: planning and monitoring plan execution; delegation and task assignment; and motivating and inspiring work, the training attracted a large number of staff from all TVG units.
The training attracted a large number of managers and key personnel from TVG units
In the first two sessions, the instructors focused on imparting basic knowledge about classifying employees for management and skills in planning and organizing work. Accordingly, there is no single method or management style that is correct for all situations and all types of personnel. Instructor Nguyen Quoc Cuong affirmed: "Management must be a continuous and highly flexible process."
The process of planning, organizing, and executing work should follow the DOME process (Diagnosis – Objective – Methodology – Evaluation)
In the last two sessions, using group discussion activities based on common management scenarios, instructor Phan Anh Luu guided participants to grasp the process of delegation and task assignment – one of the most important tasks for managers.
Following the training on delegation and task assignment, participants were introduced to three important theories (Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Herzberg's two-factor theory, and Vroom's expectancy theory) to better understand employee psychology and motivate them to work and develop themselves.
Groups discussed together to come up with the most reasonable delegation process
Beyond theoretical teaching and exercises on common management situations, the training also allocated time for participants to present real-life management scenarios at Tinh Van Group and engage in group thinking, discussion, and critique to find implementation solutions.
The training course "Capacity Building for Middle Managers and Key Personnel" is part of Tinh Van Group's training activities in 2014, aimed at enhancing not only management knowledge but also soft skills to help managers improve their capacity and performance.
