Tinh Van Group Successfully Maintains CMMI Level 3 Certification

On October 24, 2013, the CMMI Level 3 assessment results for Tinh Van Group were officially approved by the CMMI Institute and published on the website: (https://sas.cmmiinstitute.com/pars/pars.aspx). Tinh Van Group's name appeared on the list of companies that successfully maintained their CMMI – Dev 1.3 – Level 3 certification.
Previously, from October 5, 2013 to October 11, 2013, the assessment team, led by Lead Appraiser Mr. SrinivasaRao Tumu from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of the United States, conducted a SCAMPI A appraisal for CMMI – DEV 1.3 – Level 3 at Tinh Van Group (Tinhvan Group).
During a one-week working period, including weekends, the expert and other team members studied and surveyed Tinh Van Group's software development process system, reviewed documentation of sampled projects, and conducted interviews with over 30 employees from Tinhvan Solutions, Tinhvan Outsourcing, and Back Office units, covering all positions in the project team structure as well as support departments.
After six intense working days, on the morning of October 11, 2013, the Lead Appraiser announced that all records of process areas serving software production activities and support activities such as Process Improvement, Training, and Quality Management at Tinh Van Group met the requirements of the CMMI model, thereby confirming that Tinh Van Group had successfully maintained its CMMI – Dev 1.3 – Level 3 certification.
The expert also highlighted several strengths of Tinh Van Group discovered during the appraisal, such as: Tinh Van Group is a company with a dynamic and cohesive culture that bonds all employees together; the leadership demonstrates a high commitment to creating favorable conditions for projects; and the process system at Tinh Van Group is quite comprehensive, providing convenient support for all employees during execution.
Additionally, the appraisal team identified weaknesses and provided improvement suggestions, which are valuable insights to help perfect Tinh Van Group's software production process system in the future. CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is an integrated capability maturity model and a framework for software process improvement.
The CMMI model is a framework of best practices for the software production process. The current CMMI-DEV version describes best practices for controlling, measuring, and monitoring software development processes. Tinh Van Group first achieved CMMI Level 3 certification in 2010. This certification is globally recognized, determining the capability maturity level of companies in software development and related services.
